It’s hard to believe we are almost through summer! Our kids start school in less than 2 weeks! I’m enjoying having them home and a more relaxed schedule has been refreshing. This year, we will have 2 high schoolers, one middle schooler, and only one left in elementary. Time really does fly and they’re growing up fast. Conner continues to enjoy his job of mowing lawns and is working hard saving up for a car. I love working with him and it’s exciting to watch his confidence grow. He’s definitely gifted in this area and his excellence shines! Meckenzie has spent a lot of time this summer growing in her skill of pencil sketching. She spends hours drawing different characters that she comes up with and we love seeing her creativity. Keirra is our social butterfly and she’s been enjoying having friends over from school and the YWAM base. Her and her friends love to make Slime (a gooey substance made of Tide and contact solution. Kind of like silly putty) and spend hours swimming. Cayden also loves swimming and having friends over. Another thing Cayden has been enjoying this summer is going to work with Dale some mornings. He really takes an interest in Dale’s computer work at the YWAM campus and has many questions for Dale about how things work.
This summer there has been some sad good bye’s and some exciting hello’s! One of Cayden’s good YWAM friends moved with his family to start a ministry in New York City. Even though we’re glad they’re following God’s plan for their family, Cayden will miss Tysen a lot. We’re very excited that my sister, Holly, has felt God leading her to move down here from PA! She’s been praying about it for quite some time and just last week she made the move. She fits in our family so well and is a real blessing to have in our home.
In June we were able to see my cousin, Crystal, graduate from School of Worship at YWAM Orlando. We enjoyed having her here and spending time with her! My other cousin is currently on outreach overseas and we’re excited to be at her Discipleship Training School graduation next month! This past week, 3 more of my relatives were here with a youth group outreach. It’s been so great having relatives on campus and we’re always happy to see family!
There is something that has been stirring in us for quite some time and we feel like now is the time to start sharing it publicly. Last fall, we began to feel God saying that we would be moving to another house. We felt like God was confirming this new place would be a blessing to our family as well as a place of refreshment and rest for others to come away and seek God for a few days at a time. We didn’t know when or how, but we got the sense that our current house wasn’t ours anymore and God was leading us on. We prayed about it as a family for months but didn’t tell many people about it because it sounded crazy and impossible. Then in March, another YWAM staff couple approached us and shared that God had been speaking to them about buying our house. They never saw our house or even knew where we lived. They were very nervous to say anything and had waited months before sharing with us. They had no idea we were already feeling we’d be moving and they weren’t sure how we’d react. Needless to say, it was confirmation that what we were sensing was from God and he was up to something. Since then, we’ve begun to meet with this couple to pray and ask God for strategies on how he wants this to happen. We’re excited to see how God works out the details! We’ve received numerous words that it’ll be “a path no one saw was there,” and come about in “unexpected ways.” It’ll be a miracle story for sure and we will keep you updated on the journey!
