“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
June 1, 2019 marked 5 years since we moved to Florida and started our adventure with YWAM Orlando. What a journey it’s been! The years have gone by so quickly and we look back with good memories. Dale has enjoyed leading the IT department and was able to push the campus forward with many technology advances. The YWAM campus was where God birthed my love for lawns and landscaping and I was able to experiment and learn so much about plants as I worked there. We’ve been very blessed and have seen God’s faithfulness over and over to our family. We’re forever grateful for this season and will always be thankful for our time with YWAM.It’s been an honor working with YWAM and seeing young people trained up and sent all over the world to share The Gospel.
As the natural seasons have a way of changing, so God changes the seasons in our lives and that’s where we find ourselves now. We have felt so many emotions as we’ve processed and prayed through our decision to step out of staff at YWAM and into the unknown. There has been sadness at the thought of leaving a world we’ve become deeply involved in and have developed many friendships in. Some days have been full of fear and doubting that we’re hearing God correctly. Other days, we feel excitement about a new adventure with God and seeing where he takes us. Through these past few months, we’ve continually gone back to God with our hands up saying, “Jesus, you know the way and what you’re doing. We don’t see the full picture yet, but we trust you.” He’s been faithful to confirm again and again that we need to keep stepping forward and he will be faithful to care for us and our family.
The end of this month (September) will mark the completion of our journey as staff at YWAM Orlando. Even though we plan to continue living in Florida, we know things will look different than they did before. Dale will no longer lead the IT department at YWAM and has already been slowly transitioning out of his role. He plans to keep relationship with YWAM and come back sometimes as an outside IT advisor, but no longer a working staff member. Dale will be working remotely for his families’ construction company in PA a few days a week. After much prayer and confirmation, we’re also moving forward with building a full-time lawns and landscaping business. We started out mowing some neighbor’s lawns as a way to provide a job for our oldest son, Conner. As more people have asked us to take on their properties, we’ve felt confirmation that God is leading us to expand and using this as a way to provide for our family in this next season. Even though we can’t see what all the future holds, we have peace and excitement that God’s guiding us and leading us on the journey!
We want to say a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to every person that has prayed, encouraged, or given financially to our family over these past 5 years. You’ll never know how much it’s meant to us and we’re forever grateful. We pray God’s blessings 100x over for your investment in us!
